“Health disparities” refers to the difference between the healthiest and unhealthiest members of a particular group. In the United States, people who are African American, Hispanic American, Asian Americans/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native suffer from preventable diseases and early deaths at higher rates than those in the majority population.
